International Society for Sexually Transmitted Diseases Research (ISSTDR)

The International Society for Sexually Transmitted Diseases Research (ISSTDR) is dedicated to advancing research in the field of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and facilitating the timely exchange of scientific knowledge among global research communities. Since its founding in 1977, ISSTDR has hosted biennial interdisciplinary scientific meetings that have alternated historically between North America and Europe. Over the past three decades, these meetings have become the leading global conferences covering the full spectrum of STI research, including HIV/AIDS. The scientific program encompasses diverse disciplines such as microbiology, virology, immunobiology, pathogenesis, clinical sciences, behavioral and social sciences, epidemiology, public health, and prevention policy. ISSTDR is governed by an international Board of Directors representing seven countries, and its conference activities are supported by the ISSTDR Conference Support Foundation.

International Union against Sexually Transmitted Infections (IUSTI)

The International Union against Sexually Transmitted Infections (IUSTI), established in 1923, is the oldest international organization focused on the global control and prevention of sexually transmitted infections, including HIV/AIDS. Functioning at both global and regional levels, IUSTI addresses the medical, scientific, social, and epidemiological aspects of STIs and their public health impact. IUSTI holds official status with the World Health Organization (WHO) as a Non-Governmental Organization in Consultative Status and is listed on the Roster of the United Nations Economic and Social Council. It organizes annual international and regional conferences and, in collaboration with the International Journal of STD & AIDS, publishes authoritative clinical guidelines for STI management. IUSTI members actively participate in global expert panels and contribute to policy development and implementation efforts in the field of sexual health.

Joint ISSTDR-IUSTI Congress

The joint ISSTDR-IUSTI Congress has earned a global reputation as a premier platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and multidisciplinary engagement in STI and HIV research and advocacy. The Congress brings together a diverse and inclusive community of researchers, clinicians, public health professionals, social scientists, and community advocates from around the world. It serves as a forum to present cutting-edge research, share innovative public health interventions, and promote evidence-based clinical and policy practices. Both ISSTDR and IUSTI are united in their commitment to advancing scientific understanding, enhancing patient care, and promoting comprehensive sexual health across populations and settings worldwide.
